The Similan Islands are famous for turquoise water, powder-soft beaches, impressive granite formations and colorful marine life—but the boat you choose can make a major difference to the experience. Lila Speed Catamaran is designed for travelers who want to discover the national park in a more comfortable and refined way.
Instead of filling the boat with a large group, Lila accepts approximately 30 guests per trip. The smaller group creates more personal space for relaxing, moving around, enjoying the scenery and taking photographs. This is not simply transportation to the islands: the day combines a spacious twin-hull speed catamaran, a later departure, comfortable lounge areas, a panoramic upper deck, two snorkeling sessions and two island landings.

Lila is positioned above a standard Similan speedboat program because the value is felt throughout the entire day. The tour is limited to approximately 30 guests, departs later than many regular programs and provides spacious indoor and outdoor relaxation areas. Five complimentary travel photos, a large towel, a hygienic disposable snorkeling mouthpiece, child-sized life jackets, meals, refreshments, the national park fee and eligible hotel transfers are also included.
For travelers who care about comfort, personal space and a calmer atmosphere, these details make the journey as memorable as the islands themselves.

The journey to the Similan Islands crosses open water, so boat design matters. Lila’s twin-hull structure provides a wider and more balanced platform than a conventional single-hull speedboat. Its layout gives guests more room to sit comfortably instead of remaining in one tight seat throughout the journey.

The boat is powered by two Suzuki 300-hp outboard engines, combining the efficiency of a speedboat with the more spacious feeling of a leisure catamaran. Although no vessel can completely remove movement at sea, Lila’s twin-hull design and open layout can offer a more comfortable cruising experience for many travelers. Guests who are sensitive to motion should still prepare suitable seasickness medication before departure.

Inside the main cabin, large windows bring in natural light and sea views. Cushioned sofa-style seating creates a more relaxing environment for families, couples and groups of friends. The open arrangement makes it easier to move between the cabin, bow, rear deck and upper level under the crew’s guidance.

Guests can choose a quieter shaded seat during the journey and move outside when they want to enjoy the breeze or take photographs. A standard onboard toilet is also available, adding welcome convenience during a full-day island trip.

At the front of Lila, oversized blue-and-white striped cushions create one of the boat’s most inviting relaxation areas. Guests can sit back, feel the sea breeze and enjoy uninterrupted views across the Andaman Sea.

The bow is especially attractive for couples, friends and families who want a more yacht-like experience. Clean white surfaces, comfortable cushions and an open-ocean background also make this one of Lila’s signature photography locations.

One of Lila’s most distinctive features is the second-floor open-air terrace. The elevated position offers panoramic sea views, while generous lounge cushions and a sun umbrella create a relaxed private-yacht atmosphere.

It is an excellent place to enjoy fruit and refreshments, appreciate the island scenery and capture stylish holiday photographs. Because the tour is limited to approximately 30 guests, visitors have more opportunity to enjoy this area without competing with a large crowd. Access is always subject to the crew’s instructions and sea conditions.

Every guest receives five complimentary travel photographs arranged by the operator. The bow cushions, upper terrace, white exterior and surrounding blue sea provide attractive settings for individual, couple, family and group pictures.

This is especially useful for couples and families who want everyone to appear in the photographs instead of leaving one person behind the camera. The photography schedule and final image selection are managed by the operator according to the activities and conditions on the day.

The Similan Islands are among Thailand’s most celebrated marine destinations. The national park is known for clear water, white-sand beaches, dramatic granite boulders and underwater habitats filled with tropical marine life.
From above, green tropical islands are surrounded by different shades of blue. At beach level, fine pale sand and clear shallow water create a peaceful setting for swimming, walking and photography. Lila’s program combines two snorkeling locations with landings on Islands No. 8 and No. 4, allowing guests to experience both the underwater world and the beaches of the national park.

The first snorkeling session is normally arranged near Island No. 9, an area known for coral scenery and tropical marine life. Because it is close to a sea turtle conservation area, guests may occasionally encounter a turtle swimming naturally through the water. Wildlife sightings are special but cannot be guaranteed.

The second snorkeling session is normally planned near Island No. 7, where guests can explore another section of the Similan marine environment. If conditions are unsuitable, the captain and guide may use a safer snorkeling area near Island No. 4. Water visibility and marine activity depend on the season, tide, current and weather.

Snorkeling equipment, life jackets and a hygienic disposable mouthpiece are provided. Guests who cannot swim should inform the guide before entering the water, wear a life jacket and remain close to the designated safety area. Marine animals should never be touched, chased or fed.
Island No. 8 is the best-known landmark in the Similan Islands and home to the famous Sailing Rock. Guests who are physically comfortable with the walk may visit the viewpoint for a sweeping view across the bay. The scenery reveals granite formations, tropical forest, white beach and brilliant blue water.

Travelers who prefer a more relaxed visit can remain near the beach, swim in the shallow water, take photographs or rest beneath the trees. Lunch is served during the island visit, followed by time for sightseeing, swimming and relaxation.
The final island landing is Island No. 4, known for its long white-sand beach and clear water. After snorkeling, guests can slow down and enjoy the island at their own pace—swim in the shallows, walk along the soft sand, take photographs or simply relax while looking across the bay.

Island No. 4 provides a peaceful final chapter to the experience before guests return to Lila for the journey back to the pier.
The day begins with a light breakfast at the pier. Lunch is provided during the island program, and dinner is served after returning to the pier. Fresh fruit, soft drinks and drinking water help guests stay refreshed throughout the tropical day.
Every guest receives a large towel for use after swimming and snorkeling. Children aged 2–7 are provided with appropriately sized life jackets. Guests with allergies, vegetarian requirements or other dietary restrictions should provide the details before booking so availability can be confirmed.
Round-trip transfers are available throughout Phuket and from selected hotel areas in Khao Lak. The exact pickup time depends on the hotel location. Guests must provide the correct hotel name, full address and booking name when reserving. Because Khao Lak covers a wide area, availability and any special arrangement must be confirmed for the specific hotel before payment.
Lila is well suited to couples looking for a stylish and photo-friendly island experience, families wanting more space, friends traveling together and visitors who prefer a smaller group to a crowded boat. It is also attractive to travelers who value a later departure and appreciate extras such as towels, disposable mouthpieces, child-sized life jackets and travel photographs.
This remains a long-distance marine excursion. Weather, waves and boat movement can change throughout the day, and the program may not be suitable for infants, elderly guests or travelers with certain medical conditions.
Lila is not intended to be the cheapest way to reach the Similan Islands. It is designed for travelers who want a smaller group, a more attractive boat, better relaxation areas and more thoughtful service throughout the day.
From the panoramic upper deck and oversized bow cushions to two snorkeling sessions, Sailing Rock scenery and the soft beach of Island No. 4, each part of the program is arranged to make the journey feel more comfortable, photogenic and memorable.
The program is limited to approximately 30 guests, providing more space and a less crowded atmosphere than many standard Similan speedboat tours.
Yes. Lila departs later than many standard programs, allowing approximately one additional hour of rest. Hotel pickup time still depends on the hotel location.
Yes. The program advertises five complimentary travel photos for each guest. Photography arrangements and final photo selection are managed by the operator.
Non-swimmers may wear a life jacket and remain close to the guide, but participation depends on sea conditions and the crew’s safety assessment. Please inform the guide before entering the water.
No. Island No. 9 is near a turtle conservation area, so encounters are possible, but all wildlife sightings depend on nature and cannot be guaranteed.
Transfers are available throughout Phuket and from selected Khao Lak hotel areas. Exact availability and any special arrangement must be confirmed using the hotel name and location.
A zero baby price does not mean the trip is recommended for infants. Infants aged 0–3 are not recommended to participate, and acceptance must be confirmed before booking.
Yes. The captain and guide may adjust snorkeling locations, island stops or timing because of weather, tides, national park instructions or sea conditions.
