Sail Into the Andaman

The Sunwind Catamaran takes you from Phuket’s shores to the crystal reefs of Racha Island, the turquoise shallows of Coral Island, and the legendary golden horizon at Promthep Cape — all in a single unforgettable voyage. Whether you’re after adventure on the water, peaceful sailing under open skies, or simply a front-row seat to one of Southeast Asia’s most celebrated sunsets, the Sunwind Catamaran is your vessel.

Sunwind Catamaran

Meet the Sunwind Catamaran

The Sunwind Catamaran is one of Phuket’s most distinctive vessels — a sleek, purpose-built sailing catamaran whose striking black hull and gold lettering make her instantly recognizable on the Andaman Sea. Rooftop solar panels quietly power her systems while her twin sails harness the wind, delivering a voyage that is as peaceful as it is exhilarating.

Step inside the saloon and you’ll find leather banquette seating with diamond-stitch upholstery, glossy white tables, and panoramic wraparound windows that keep you connected to the sea from every angle. A dramatic circular detail crowns the central mast column, giving the interior a character that blends nautical heritage with contemporary comfort.

On deck, wide foredeck sun cushions invite long hours of lounging as limestone karsts and island silhouettes drift past on the horizon. The shaded mid-deck provides cool respite from the tropical sun, while the upper flybridge offers uninterrupted 360-degree views — a front-row seat to one of the world’s most breathtaking seascapes. The Sunwind Catamaran’s wide, stable twin-hull design means the ride stays smooth and comfortable for everyone on board, from seasoned sailors to first-time sea guests.

Three Destinations, One Perfect Day

The Sunwind Catamaran follows a route crafted to capture Phuket’s most spectacular natural settings — from open-ocean sailing to sheltered island bays, ending as the sky ignites in shades of amber and rose.

Coral Island — Reefs, Play & Sea Sports

Coral Island — locally known as Koh Hae — sits just ten minutes from Phuket’s south-eastern coast and is celebrated for its accessible shallow reefs and calm, protected waters. The Sunwind Catamaran drops anchor in a crystalline bay where the seabed is visible from the deck in shades of jade, sapphire, and aquamarine.

The island is ideal for swimming from the beach. Colourful reef fish dart between coral heads close to the surface, and the gently shelving sand makes water entry and exit effortless for guests of all ages.

At Coral Island:

  • Snorkel the reef directly from the beach in calm, clear shallows
  • Join sea sports on the island — banana boat, jet ski, parasailing & more (available at extra cost, paid directly on-site)
  • Enjoy lunch on the Coral Banana beach

Racha Island — Where the Sea Runs Clear

Approximately 30 kilometres south of Phuket, Racha Island (Koh Racha Yai) is a protected marine haven where the Andaman Sea shows its truest, most brilliant color. The Sunwind Catamaran anchors in the island’s sheltered bay, framed by powdery white sand and jungle-covered hills descending to the water’s edge.

With underwater visibility stretching 8 to 10 metres on a clear day, the reef beneath the catamaran is a living gallery of staghorn coral, parrotfish, and sea turtles. The water slide is deployed here — launching guests from the deck directly into the sea in a moment that becomes the highlight of every voyage.

Your choice at Racha Island:

  • Stay on board and snorkel from the catamaran, which anchors right in the bay
  • Land on the island to explore beaches, viewpoints, and beach clubs (optional)

Promthep Cape — Golden Hour Fishing

As the afternoon light begins to soften, the Sunwind Catamaran makes her way to the waters off Promthep Cape — one of the most celebrated sunsets in all of Southeast Asia. From the water, the dramatic rocky headland takes on an entirely different character: a dark silhouette rising from a sea that turns amber, rose, and deep violet as the sun descends toward the horizon.

Promthep Cape Phuket

Fishing rods and bait are provided as you drift on the glassy water in the last warmth of the day. Whether you land a catch or simply sit in comfortable silence as the sky transforms, this is one of Phuket’s most quietly extraordinary experiences — and the perfect way to end a day on the Andaman Sea.

Weather Contingency — Maiton Island

In the event that weather conditions prevent the Sunwind Catamaran from reaching Promthep Cape, we will adjust the route to visit Maiton Island (Koh Maiton) — a privately owned island just off Phuket’s south-eastern coast, known for its untouched beaches and remarkably clear, sheltered waters.

Maiton Island offers a tranquil alternative with excellent snorkeling, stunning scenery, and the same relaxed end-of-day atmosphere the Promthep Cape sunset session is loved for. Our crew monitors conditions throughout the day and will inform guests of any route changes as early as possible. Your comfort and safety always come first.

Onboard Activities

The Sunwind Catamaran is fully equipped for a day of adventure at sea. Each activity is part of your voyage — no extra planning required.

Snorkeling Masks and life jackets are provided. Explore the reefs of Racha Islands in crystal-clear water with the guidance of an experienced crew.

Water Slide Launch from the upper deck of the Sunwind Catamaran directly into the Andaman Sea — a thrill that’s just as exciting on the tenth ride as the first, especially when the water below is perfectly clear.

Clear Kayak Paddle across water so transparent the reef below is fully visible through the hull. A uniquely immersive way to explore the calm bays around the islands at your own pace.

Paddle Boat A relaxed, leisurely way to navigate the sheltered island waters. Ideal for families, photographers, and anyone who prefers to take the slow lane on the open ocean.

Coral Island Sea Sports — Beyond the Sunwind Catamaran’s own activities, Coral Island offers an extensive range of on-island sea sports including banana boat rides, drive speedboat parasailing, and more. These are available to join independently on the island for an additional fee paid directly on-site.
